Iconic Takes a Spring Trip
For a nice break from life we took a road trip to the district. From silence and respect at Arlington to rule breaking at the Smithsonian museums, we did it all.
The Search For a Hint of Feminism
Women's rights are a major part of our nation's history. While in the district I went hunting for that hint of feminism. Sadly, I only found a Rosie the Riveter exhibit. I also learned of women not being permitted to be Navy Seals. I thought women were supposed to be equal now. I guess I was wrong.

ICONIC STYLE: Aino Jawo
Icona Pop is seeming to become quite the sensation lately. Aino Jawo (on right) was by far my favorite of the dynamic duo when I saw them this past December opening for Marina and the Diamonds. I was a fan of their music before I saw them but seeing them live was amazing. Aino's outfit was so inspiring. She walked out on stage wearing a black vest-like thing that was almost floor length. You could tell that she was the more punk one of the two.
Her style screams "I'm a badass and I don't care, I love it." Every women everywhere should be inspired by her attitude. They should also be inspired by her cheekbones.
I mean just look at that flawless bone structure ( and that flawless style!) She is definitely my girl crush of the moment. Sadly she's taken by Caroline Hjelt her partner in music.

How To Survive Your Period
Have you ever just had that day during your period where you want to skip school and watch ironic ninties television (like Daria and My So-Called Life) all day? This is your period survival guide and kit.
What you'll need:
What you'll need:
- Netflix or box sets of TV shows
- Candles that smell like your favorite fruits or baked goods
- A laptop
- Bubble bath or bath bombs (the ones from LUSH are by far the best)
- a nice hot bath
- a cute bath playlist (consisting of a lot of indie techno like Crystal Castles)
- a lot of junk food (chocolate, oreos, nutella, etc.)
- take a cute bath: light some candles, fill the bath up with a lot of hot water and drop in your bath bomb or load the bath with a lot of bubbles. don't forget to turn on the Crystal Castles.
- make a list of what to watch when you have your period. this way you'll be prepared next time.
- put on some comfy pajamas like a thrifted star wars shirt and cotton american apparel shorts.
- light about a million candles to surround your bed while you fangirl over Brian Krakow
- turn netflix on, make some green tea, and watch My So-Called Life.
